Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Processes Penrad letters and reports in a timely, accurate and consistent manner.
  • Autocommits penrad reports on a regular basis throughout the day.
  • Prints both patient and physician letters. Confirms their accuracy and distributes them appropriately.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all patient activities and records.
  • Files all reports in the report folders.
  • Faxes reports to not on staff physicians.
  • Promote accurate and timely reading of mammography exams to assure film interpretation and report verification occurs within an appropriate time frame.
  • Helps to arrange films for digitizing process.
  • Requests film folders from other facilities and sends films back to patients or facilities and updates Penrad log accordingly.
  • Arranges outside or prior films and corresponding requisitions on the scope in the correct anatomical order as dictated by the Radiologist.
  • Contribute to the efficient functioning of the Breast Care Center.
  • Answers phones using professional and courteous tones according to Advocate standards.
  • Facilitates the flow of surgical patients or processes through the Breast Care Center.
  • Assists Breast Center and Good Shepherd Hospital associates and Physicians as needed.
  • Distributes mail and/or correspondence received for the Breast Care Center.
  • Helps to ensure correct prescriptions are obtained.
  • Follows up with patient or physician offices to ensure orders are correct and received in a timely manner.
  • Documents any issue errors/problems accordingly.
  • Tracks what orders are outstanding and which have been received.
  • Utilizes appropriate systems to look up orders.
  • Utilizes systems accordingly.
  • Demonstrates good working knowledge of all computer systems-Allegra, Penrad, Radnet, Care Connection, Scheduling.com, Lawson and Microsoft products.
  • Ensures pathology reports are available.
  • Unit supplies are maintained.
  • Obtains supplies through Lawson and dietary services to maintain adequate stock for department functionality.
  • Scheduling.
  • Schedules call-back patients as requested by the Radiologist.
  • Adjusts daily patient schedule to meet the needs of the department/patients.
