Responsibilities

  • Administer the day-to-day functions within the department to include claims handling procedures, interdepartmental communication, and oversight of other workers’ compensation associates.
  • Effectively communicate with Broker and TPA on claims handling and coverage questions.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation documentation, status reports, and claims settlement and coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state regulations while updating documentation.
  • Perform day-to-day case management of assigned claims; initiate contact with injured employees; confer with claimants, doctors, and other parties; obtain and review workers' compensation claims; and determine appropriate action for each case.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Safety Department.
  • Input Subsequent Report of Injury/First Report of Injury data and new claims in claims software system.
  • Provide, interpret and explain information regarding claims status, policies, requirements, rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure clarity regarding work restrictions for every workers’ compensation case by consulting with medical treatment providers.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding workers' compensation policies, procedures, and benefits, including return to work.
  • Assist employees with filing incident reports and accurately documenting investigations to ensure faster settlements and resolution.
  • Evaluate workers’ compensation claims applications, analyze complexities in claims data and identify missing information.
  • Works closely with the benefits team to transition employees to LOA when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with partner resources and claimants to resolve workers’ compensation cases in accordance with applicable guidelines.
